Last August, if I’m not mistaken, was the anniversary month of RX 93.1.Ā Part of their celebration was a mini concert series which, features different singers/bands every Monday for that month. One band featured was Parokya ni Edgar.
My friend and I were just planning on listening over the radio and I even went to the office late so that I can fully hear their songs, but things changed all of a sudden. We learned that listeners were allowed to drop by the radio station to see and hear PnE live!
Adrenaline rushed all over my body as we decided to go there. It was my first time to see a band, my favorite band, up close and personal. I was not myself the whole day as I was researching the stationās address and at the same time picturing in my mind what the scenarios will be when weāre there. I was thinking that a lot of people will show up and weāll have a hard time getting the bands autograph, but then that didnāt discouraged me.
Another setback we had was that weāre not prepared for this. We donāt have camera, album for them to sign on, pen and āthe bossā can be a hindrance to our plans. Since we were late, our time out should have been 8pm, but this day is special, we need to be at the station before 7pm. Again, that didnāt stop us from going there.
First, we had to deal with āthe bossā. We ensured that all of our tasks were done by 6:00pm and then we zoomed out to the lobby before we get blocked. As soon as the elevator opened on the ground floor, we flew (hypothetically speaking) to Robinsonās Pioneer to buy an album but thereās no music or record bar there. We hurriedly went outside then rode a taxi to Robinsonās Galleria to search and buy any album of PnE. We walked back and forth looking for record bars then luckily found one and I bought Inuman Session vol 1.
We then hurriedly walked towards emerald avenue going to strata building, since the station is located there. Upon arriving, I was starstrucked! I can’t believe that I am just a glass away from them and it was already 7:30pm and the show is about to wrap up. Luckily, they still have one more song to sing and that was Yes Yes Show. We entered the small studio which, was packed by people enough to occupy the space provided for the audience. It gave me goosebumps while singing the part where Francis M. should have sang that.
After their concert, was the autograph and picture session. I was able to have them sign my Inuman Session album but I was not able to have Gab’s autograph.
Only Dar’s signature is visible in this picture because we don’t have pen that time, so I just improvised with ballpen. Too bad we’re not prepared.
But it was really a night to remember!:D
