I am lost

I was chatting with a friend and suddenly we were talking about our past times, or what I meant is what do we do during our free time. I was like, umm wait I can’t think of anything now except for Facebook, blogging or watching TV. Then I suddenly realized and told that person that most of my time are taken by overtime work. We just laughed at that thought and just continued chatting.

And then again, another friend asked me if I watch movies, and I was like I am not fond of watching movies in the cinema. Then asked me also, then what do you do during your free time. Again I was like, what am I doing during my free time, I don’t know.

I came to a point of realization: I am lost.

Maybe because these past few months, I am on night shift so most of the time I’m sleeping. So I think I’m currently adjusting again to the so-called “work – life balance”.

Will start my self-searching this weekend.

First stop: The city of pines – Baguio

Mode of Transportation

There are different transportations we could choose from when traveling, which may be for a short-distance or a long one. We opt to choose the most convenient and most comfortable for us, but what if you need to make certain sacrifices of comfort for cost and travel time, would you dare to?

Having many options on what transportation to take going to the office is a tough decision for me. I usually consider the travel time and cost so I dare to sacrifice my comfort by taking the PNR, which stands for Philippine National Railways. I’m getting used to it now, with the pushing and shouting inside and outside the train, but what the heck it saves time and money. ๐Ÿ˜€

Took this picture while waiting for the train to arrive.

I took this picture because I remember a math problem during highschool days where you need to solve for the time train A will meet train B at a certain point. Also, it looks like the trains are in a race. Hahaha

This one is the train schedule. It’s easy to memorize the time, if you’re always riding the PNR. ๐Ÿ˜€ Hopefully the management will shorten the waiting time between trains and will extend operations until 10pm.

New project for me

Since I was not able to register for the AtoZ Challenge, I’ll just make a self-challenge. It is for me to blog about the pictures taken from my cellphone. Currently, the items sent are 85 of 144. Well not all of them will be posted, because some are just redundant. I’ll just group them accordingly.

I’ll start soon after I’ve finished transferring the pictures. ๐Ÿ˜€

Mixed Emotions

Recently received my deployment to another project, which means that the happy times in bench are now over. I don’t know if I’m happy or sad, but one thing is for sure, I want to go back to project <bag>.

I want to go out in the middle of the heavy rain and cry to my heart’s content, I want to shout out loud that roars deep in theย silent of the night. I don’t know why, but I want to go back to project <bag>.

This may be a new opportunity to learn, an opportunity that I’ve been waiting for but still, I want to go back to project <bag>.

Hoping that 3 months would pass by quickly, so I could go back to project <bag>.

Enjoying Life

Living life is not just about waking up each day working for money, tiring yourself and not realizing how much time are wasted. I know that we have different views on how to live life to the fullest, but one thing is for sure, we need to enjoy it.

Most of us are stressed with too much work, complaining about the limited personal time or leisure time, which is simply the “work-life balance”. I’ve read a blog about this work-life balance, which was described in a different but optimistic perspective and I want to share what I can recall (because I can’t remember where I’ve read that blog, but the message reached my heart that’s why I am able to share it).

So here it goes:

As a working professional, we need to devote most of our time working, rendering overtime on weekdays or even on weekends. Work can take up to 10 hours of our time or even straight shifts for worst cases. As a person or as a human being, we are also bound by our limits to perform maximum efficiency thus resulting to complain about “work-life balance”. But have we ever accepted the fact that we chose this and that we are working for money, instead of money should be working for us?

Take this example for instance, a friend invited you to play a friendly basketball game, since you love playing basketball you agree. So what do I mean by this? You accepted the invite since you love playing basketball even though you will not receive any compensation for the time you spent playing. Are you now getting my point?

So the fact that you accepted the job offered means that you like what you will do or will be doing in the future. What about overtime? Basketball also have overtime, especially when the game is intense. Same with work, overtime is needed when the project schedule is fast approaching. The only difference is that money is working for you while you’re enjoying what you do. See?

But if you still want a “work-life balance” which is 8 hours of work and the rest is personal time, then maybe you need to change your career path and do something that really interests you. ๐Ÿ˜€

Weekly Photo Challenge: Path

I was waiting at the train station last 11.11.11, it was already around 6:00pm. The sun already set and the moon and the stars are the only light shining up the sky. I walked towards the train station hurriedly so that I can catch the train and luckily I did plus an added bonus of taking this picture.

PNR

So what is special about taking this picture?

Well for me, I was just astonished how the headlight of the train lighted up the path. Before the train arrived, I took a picture of the railroad and it was just pure blackness.
